‘Blade Runner’ Sequel Moved to 2017 Against a WB Event Film

The untitled Blade Runner project will now arrive within 2017 calendar. Warner Brothers and Alcon Entertainment announced in a press release on Wednesday, April 20 that the sci-fi pic’s release date had been moved up to October 6, 2017. 
The sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 film previously held the January 12, 2018 slot. It was an odd choice to put a film of such genre during Martin Luther King Jr.’s weekend. The new date is considerably more fitting but not exactly favorable. It is now set to open against an untitled WB event film as well as an untitled Fox/Marvel film.
