‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Sequel to Take Place in 90s, Prof. X to Join ‘New Mutants’

As “X-Men: Apocalypse” is heading to theaters, chatters about the next installment and possible spin-off begin. Producer Simon Kinberg teases during a press conference at the “Apocalypse” premiere that the sequel will be set in the 90s. 
The first “X-Men” movies were set in the early 2000 before it got revamped with “X-Men: First Class” which returned to the 60s. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” later chronicled the events in 1970s before Apocalypse wreaked havoc in 1980s.
