New Vision CEO Robert Kabushenga has stated that XFM and Urban TV presenter Charlie Denzel Mwiyeretsi is to face the Disciplinary Committee following several rape allegations, and sexual harassment accusations.
Kabushenga tweeted this statement after a series of tweets on his socials after fresh allegations went viral, pinning Denzel and gospel rapper Edwin Ruyonga to having raped different girls, due to lust, ego and animosity.
This is not the first time that Denzel has been accused of rape. In June 2019, Sandra Awilli, through Twitter, narrated how she narrowly survived being raped by a drunk Denzel, but he denied it, and called it character assassination.
Twitter has been buzzing with several Ugandan girls coming out and revealing how they are victims of rape, but were too afraid to come out. Denzel’s name remains on top of the matter as his accusers emphasize that he usually does so after a few drinks, so he pretends to be drunk, and rapes girls.
One of the Tweeps alleges that he personally knows a certain girl who was impregnated by the radio presenter after rape, but the two reached an agreement to keep it on the low.
“I personally know a girl he impregnated after the rape and she kept going to New Vision till an agreement was reached where Denzel was supposed to pay monthly upkeep (of) Shs1m. That figure reduced to 50k because Denzel couldn’t pay and he’s never paid a coin since.”
Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without their consent. The act may be carried out by physical force, coercion, abuse of authority, or against a person who is incapable of giving valid consent, such as one who is unconscious, incapacitated, has an intellectual disability or is below the legal age of consent.
“I survived being raped by Denzel Mwiyeretsi” – said Sandra Awilli mid-last year.
