Led by 1st Deputy Prime Minister, Gen.Moses Ali, Ugandan Government launched the distribution of free face masks countrywide to control the spread of the Coronavirus.
The launch took place today, 10 June, 2020 in Kampala. Moses Ali was flanked by ministers Hon. Evelyn Anite, Hon.Robinah Nabbanja, Hon.Kiwanda, Dr. Diana Atwine, Dr. Henry Mwebesa, Dr Opigo Jimmy, Ruth Jane Aceng and team.
A total of 750,000 face masks were handed over by 5 different Ugandan companies today and they will be distributed to Amuru, Adjumani, Kyotera and Rakai Districts.
Ministry of Health will continue to receive face masks from the various manufacturers daily and this will be distributed to all the districts countrywide. Masks will be distributed door-to-door via Government structures.
This is in implementation of government’s guideline for every Ugandan above 6 years to wear a mask in public.
“Always wear a face mask when in public and continue to adhere to the Presidential Directives and Ministry of Health guidelines,” that was the main message during the launch.
